Hyper-Threading support allows two threads to run simultaneously on each core - recognizing up to 48 total cores, 24 real and 24 virtual. Turbo Boost support automatically boosts the processor speed based on workload - so if an application is only using one of the cores it will automatically increase the speed of the core in use and turn off the unused cores.

The HP Z4 Rack G5 has one 3.5-inch SATA drive bay that can be arranged with one 3.5-inch HDD or two 2.5-inch SSDs. Arrange any combination of hard drives or solid-state drives.

SATA SSDs have read/write speeds averaging 500MB/s.
SATA Hard Drives have read/write speeds averaging 250MB/s.

The HP Z4 Rack G5 has one onboard 1Gb Ethernet port. Add additional network adapters if you have a 10Gb network at your location or connect to multiple networks.

The HP Z4 Rack G5 has two power supply bays supporting two HP 675 watt power supply units (PSUs) in redundant or aggregate mode. One power supply is included by default. If you select the two power supply unit option, we will select the appropriate mode in the system BIOS based on your configuration.

• (1) PSU is fine for majority of configurations and if the workstation is in a accessible environment.
• (2) PSUs are recommended if your configuration includes a high performance graphics card or you want redundancy (e.g. the workstation will be stored in a remote environment making it difficult to replace the PSU in case of a failure).
